Edible Flowers
anthophile:(n.) a person who loves flowers
Anthophile Farm is a non-certified organic and regenerative flower farm located in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina. We are a one-woman (and dog) owned farm whose intent is to bring beauty into this world and yours.
This farm has been my dream since I was a little girl growing up in Queens, NY. All it took was one elementary school field trip and the idea of being a farmer was stuck in my mind for life. Thirty(ish) years later (which included a stint in the Air Force, a corporate career in Healthcare IT and a year of #vanlife!) I found my place to literally and figuratively put down roots.
I am fortunate to have a lifetime of gardening experience via my mother, who immigrated here from Laos. She valued having her own fresh greens and veggies for preparing native dishes and always carved out a growing space wherever we lived in NYC.
The transition from gardening to farming is a whole new beast. However, a positive of starting with a blank slate is the opportunity to forge my own path in harmony with nature. For me, that means no inorganic pesticides, no herbicides and employing practices that improve the soil microbiome. Learning and experimenting is my favorite part of this life and I am very honored to be a steward of this land.
Thanks for being a part of this journey with us.
